Funeral services for Mrs. Anna W. Byrd, 75, Daytona Beach, will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Berean Baptist Church, with Rev. Nathan Mugala, Pastor, Allen Chapel AME Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 - 8:30 p.m., Nov. 30 (today, Friday) at RJ Gainous Funeral Home and from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church on Saturday. On July 8, 1937, the breath of God blew upon the earth and once again, a living soul was born. On Wednesday, November 21, 2012, God called Anna Williams Byrd home. She was born to the union of the late Sidney and Mary Williams, in Madison, FL. She graduated from Madison County Public School and moved to Daytona Beach, FL. She attended Daytona Beach Community College, where she received her Certificate as a Certified Nursing Attendant. She met and married, William Byrd, February, 1962 who preceded her in death. To this union, she had two children. As her life journey continued she met Lorenzo Gamble (deceased) they were later blessed with a daughter, Mary "Angela" Gamble. Anna became a Christian and worshipped at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church until her health began to fail. As life's beautiful and peaceful journey passed, Anna leaves to cherish her memory, three children: William "Marvin" Byrd, Jr., Daytona Beach, Richard "Stanley" Byrd (Janae), Riverview, FL; Mary "Angela" Gamble, Daytona Beach; three sisters: Ruby Ross (Wayne), Kathyleen Franklin, Miami, FL; Dorothy Gaines (Robert), Daytona Beach; one brother: Sidney Williams Byrd (Gracie), Spring Hill, FL. She was proud of her eight grandchildren: Richard Byrd, Jr., Lakecia Byrd, Ayisha Cason, Marquise Savage, Tkarra Byrd, Rashard Byrd, Tanaija Terry, Jaylin Sanders; one great-great- grandson, Emmanual Joseph White; two Godchildren: Kayla Kennedy and Kiana Stanley; two very special friends: Doris Hill and Becky Lindsey, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
