Funeral services for Mr. Sylvester Mitchell, Jr., 78, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, who passed on Friday, November 30, 2012 in Daytona Beach, will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Apostolic Faith Temple with Elder John H. Lawson, Asst. Pastor, delivering the main eulogy and Pastor Tony Barhoo, Pastor, Living Faith World Ministries, presiding. Interment will follow in Glencoe-Gieger Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday, (today, Dec. 7) at Apostolic Faith Temple and from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church on Saturday. Mr. Mitchell was born in Tampa, FL. He retired from the City of New Smyrna Beach. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents: Sylvester and Mabel Mitchell and a son, Allan Bernard MItchell. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Dorothy Mitchell, New Smyrna Beach: three sons, Sylvester III, California, Ronald (Sharon), Edgewater, and Tonny, New Smyrna Beach; two daughters: Vivian (Sammie) Rogers, Jacksonville, Florida, and Malinda Mitchell, New Smyrna Beach; six brothers, Chanel (Sheila), New Smyrna Beach, Herman, New Smyrna Beach, Ralph (Jennie), Orlando, Vernal (Freida), Edgewater, Bennie, New Smyrna Beach, and Russell (Verlyn), New York; one sister: Wessie Jean Brown, New Smyrna Beach; five grandchildren, Marlon Mitchell, Martell Rogers, Naderia Murray, Jeremy Mitchell, and Jada Mitchell; mother-in-law: Lucille Anderson, Osteen, Florida and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
