Edward Richards Ziegler, Jr., 80, of Palm Coast, Florida went to be with his heavenly father on December 29, 2012. Ed was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Gebhard Ziegler. The son of Edward R Ziegler, Sr. and Ruth Ziegler was born May 4, 1932. He is survived by his two sons Edward R. Ziegler, III, Scott Wesley Ziegler and his wife, Amy; two grandchildren, Adair Grace Ziegler and John Sheldon Ziegler. He was passionate about being near the ocean and boating, graduating from New York State Maritime College in 1955. He was an officer in the Merchant Marine and a reserve officer in the United States Navy where he took part in the development of the Nautilus class submarine. He retired as president of Titmus Optical and Ziess America. He loved God, family, friends and country and was loyal to each in turn. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 4th from 6pm to 8pm at the West Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W.
