Michael T. McMahan, 60, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 with his loving wife of 38 years, to the day, holding his hand. Michael was born in Savannah, GA, and moved to DeLand in 1958. He attended Dempsy Brewster, DeLand Jr. High and was a graduate of DeLand High School class of 1970. He graduated from Clemson University in 1977 with a degree in Civil Engineering and was licensed in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. He was currently employed by the D.O.T. Michael served 6 years in the U.S. Naval Reserve, and 2 years active on the USS Richard L. Page with the sixth fleet. He is past president of the DeLand Breakfast Kiwanis and served as advisor to the Key Club of DeLand for Kiwanis, he was a member of Daytona Breakfast Rotary Club, Florida Engineering Society, DeLand Country Club. He had a love of music, golf, fishing and his Clemson Tigers. Michael is preceded in death by his father, Richard McMahan and brother, Matthew. He leaves behind his childhood friend, high school sweetheart and wife Patricia; mother, Mary McMahan; mother-in-law, Marian Hennessey; uncle, Buddy (Flora) Blount; aunt Carolyn (Paul) Delargy; sister-in-law, Sandra (Roger) Keefer; brother-in-law, Raymond Hen-nessey; half-brother, Drew (Kelly) Hendry; half-sister's, Carol Hendry and Jenny (John) Stewart; four nieces; and three nephews. Services will be held on January 12, 2013 at 1:00pm at Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand. Flowers are accepted or donations to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129 in is memory.
