Vallen (Allen) William Pitts, born Jan. 18, 1938 to parents Henry and Nettie Lou Pitts, died Jan. 9, 2013. Survived by his wife of 55 years Niurka Pitts; daughter Issa Harrell and son-in-law Marvin; daughter Maude Loewenthal and son-in-law Steve; son Donald Pitts; grandson Nicholas Mugavero; grandson Grey Mugavero. He was a Navy veteran who served on Lake Champlain Destroyer and Willard Keith. He retired as a commercial artist from Disney World and formerly owned his own sign shop as Allen and Gilbert signs in Miami, FL and Allen Sign Co. in DeLand, FL. Vallen was also a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club. Hobbies included fishing, playing guitar, horse and dog track racing, Jai-lai, boxing, little league, and reading biographies. His sense of humor, generousity, and his love of family and friends will be greatly missed. He fought a long year battle with cancer.
