Leo Bertholf, 85, of DeLand passed away on December 19, 2012. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00am on January 17th at St. Peters Catholic Church in DeLand. Leo was an Army Veteran having served in World War II in 1945 & 1946. He worked for 21 years as a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Liberty Highway Dept., in Liberty, New York, where he retired in 1982. After moving to Florida in 1984, Leo worked as a courier for Cablevision Industries. Leo was a member of the Knights of Columbus #6274, the American Legion and Liberty Hose and Truck #2 in Liberty, New York. He was a very caring and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Leo enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Leo is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alice Bertholf, children; Sharon (Gary) Kortright, Denise (Jim) Doucette, Keith (Lisa) Bertholf, Phyllis (David Page) Bertholf and Nancy Bertholf; grandchildren; Michael and Sarah Kortright, Amanda and Bill Hulsey, Patrick Doucett, Jessica Stevens and Jared Bertholf, Ryan Bertholf, Kayla and April Page, Ashley and Rachel Whitaker; and great-grandchildren Maddison, Sean and Isabell. The family requests that donations be made to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia Flagler or the .
