Leola Deloris Caswell Worthen was born April 16, 1927 in Tallahassee, Florida to the late Danny & Minnie Caswell. She graduated from Lincoln High School. She moved to Seville, Florida and served as a faithful member of Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church for more than 60 years. She was also President of the Seville Community Senior Citizens Club. After working in the fern industry, she later became employed at Community Action Agency as a social worker. She was married to the late Jesse Worthen Sr. Others who have preceded her in death include two daughters: Elder Ernestine Evans and Constance Lenora Cody; brothers: Robert and Eddie Washington; Survivors include children: Hazel & Jesse Worthen (Carolyn), Seville, FL; Rev. Charlie C. Worthen (Dreamal), Tallahassee, FL; son-in-law: Gilbert Evans Sr., Crescent City, FL; grandchildren: Maurice, Gilbert, Darryl, Sarondrelyn, Audrey, Anthony, Antigone, Najawa, Deejournae, Jesse III, Erskin, Carlton, Brandi, Michael, Jason and Harrison; 18 great-grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters: Mother Geneva Nance, Miami, FL; Mary Johnson and Annie Alexander of Tallahassee, FL; brother-in-law: The Honorable Judge Freddie Worthen (Frances), Daytona Beach, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; a very devoted friend, Minister Robert Lewis, Seville, FL. Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, February 23, 2013 at St. John Baptist Church, 1835 Barton Street, Seville. Her pastor Rev. Willie Mae Joma and her son, Rev. Charlie Worthen will officiate. Visitation will be held today (Friday) from 4pm to 6pm at Ward Chapel AME Church, 1851 Barton Street, Seville. Burial will follow services at St. John's Cemetery.
