Richard Nemesek, age 68, of New Smyrna Beach, died Saturday, February 23 at Daytona Beach Health and Rehab. Born in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, Richard came to this area in 1998 from Ft. Lauderdale, where he had an insurance agency. In New Smyrna Beach, he ran Big Joe's Subs and worked for Reddy Ice Company. He was a U.S. Air Force Viet Nam Veteran and an avid motorcyclist. Survivors include two sons, Ryan of Royal Palm Beach and Craig of Coral Springs; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Bryce Nemesek of Royal Palm Beach; two brothers, Robert of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Terry of Parkersburg, West Virginia; and his sister, Betty Noland and her husband, Jim, of New Smyrna Beach. A memorial service to celebrate Richard's life will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28 at the Settle-Wilder New Smyrna Beach Chapel, with the Rev. Andy Pollock, Hospice of Volusia/Flagler officiating. Interment will be later in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The family requests no flowers or food, but rather donations to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Condolences may be sent to
