Born May 25, 1935 in Goffstown, NH to Helen Waite and William A. Clapp, Bill was an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War and member of the Port Orange VFW. A bookkeeper by trade, he retired from the Daytona Beach YMCA in 1998. Bill retired for a second time in 2012 from the Volusia Teachers Organization in 2012.
