Nadine S. Cox, 79 of Pierson passed away at her home on March 12, 2013.
She was born on November 1, 1933 in Hartsville, Georgia and was a homemaker. Nadine was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in DeLand and loved being with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Walter; sons, Tommy Cox of Seville, Billy Cox and wife Paula of Gainesville and Jerry Cox and wife Sharlene of Thomasville, Georgia; daughters, Donna Busbin and husband Ricky of Pierson, Janie North of DeLand, Charlene Boggs of Pierson and Amanda Emerick and husband Larry of Crescent City; brother Willie Steadman of Pierson; Frances Thursby and Josephine Bacon, both of Waycross, Georgia, Mildred Showers of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Katherine Fletcher of Lenox, Georgia; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 14th from 6-8pm at the Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 15th at 10am at the Liberty Baptist Church in Deland with Reverend Slade Rickles and Reverend Howard Cox officiating.
