John F. Sullivan, 77, beloved husband and father, and a longtime resident of Ormond Beach, died Friday, March 29th. He was the son of John J. and Catherine Sullivan nee Callaghan. He was born and raised in Yonkers, New York, and moved to Palm Coast, Florida in 1979 with his family, and relocated to Ormond Beach in 1986. He is also predeceased by his brother, Daniel B. Sullivan. He was a General Contractor and a member of New York City Local 46. He was a 50 year third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan Sullivan nee Myers, a son, John (Jeanne) Sullivan of Fairfield, Connecticut, a daughter, Maureen Sullivan Furlong (Neale) of Ormond By The Sea, Florida, grandchildren, Justine, Lindsay, Alex, Dawn and Stephen, and great granddaughter, Rory Jean, a brother, Denis, of Wyckoff, New Jersey and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. There will be a mass of Christian burial at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on April 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Inernment with military honors will be held at Volusia Memorial Gardens immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in his name to the Halifax Humane Society.
