John J. Makosky left his earthly journey to be with his heavenly father on May 2, 2013. Johnny was born in Boonton, New Jersey on Saturday, June 1, 1918 to the late Mary and Joseph Makosky.
Johnny met the love of his life, Ann Mayerchak, and they married January 1942. Johnny played professional baseball for the New York Yankee organization. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked at RFL Laboratories, Boonton, retiring in 1984. Johnny and Ann moved to Florida in 1984. He enjoyed baseball, golf, traveling and family. He leaves behind a personal legacy of fairness, love and acceptance of all people. He will be greatly missed by his family. Johnny was preceded in death by his brothers: Frank (Dins), Joseph ,and sister Ann Stiff, and great-granddaughter Caitlyn Daley. He is survived by his wife Ann of 71 years; his children and their spouses: John, Mickie (Gary) Mini, Jeanne (Gary) Johnson, Tom (Cathy) and David (Patti); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family expresses special thanks to Cathie Nacci for her tender, loving care of Johnny. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday June 1 at Clymer Funeral Home, Palm Coast Florida. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the VFW post 8696 Palm Coast.
