- Lois Ann Massey Acton, a consummate homemaker, mother of five children, grandmother of seven, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in Palm Coast, FL. She was 82 years young. Mrs. Acton was a resident of Palm Coast for fifteen years. She had previously resided in Long Beach, North Carolina. A native of Danville, Kentucky she was born June 21, 1930 to the late Claude and Della Massey of Danville. She graduated from Danville High School. She married her high school sweetheart on August 26, 1950, and they were wed 46 years. Her passion was her family. Her talents were many. She enjoyed gardening, antiquing, sewing and cooking. She had a keen interest in sports and politics. In her death, her wish would be to plant some growing green life, and think of her when you tend your garden. She will be greatly missed by her family. A private remembrance was held in her honor, June 21, 2013 in Palm coast, FL. She was pre-deceased by her husband John Milton Acton II, and her son John Milton Acton III. Survivors include four daughters, Emily Everett (Terry) of Moores Hill, Indiana, Linda Nelson (Hal) of Carmel, Indiana, Carolyn Matukonis (Rich) of Korona, FL and Jane Acton (Michael) of Carmel, Indiana. Also survived by, brother and sister-in-law Milton & Billie Massey of Waverly, Pa; and her grandchildren: Jeannine, Kelly, Michael, Abigail, John, Evan and Madelyn. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorial donations to be made to Florida Hospital Hospicecare, 770 W. Granada Blvd. Ste. 304, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
