Jay Wilson Williams was born April 17, 1934 to Cornelia Wynn in Quincy, FL. He attended Campbell High
School and then served in the United States Air Force. After the completion of his tour of duty he returned to Daytona Beach and started his own construction and landscaping business. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes and he also enjoyed, as he would put it, "going up the street." Preceded in death by his mother; James Lewis (stepfather); two sisters, Peggy Coleman Davis and Alice Coleman Townsel. Mr. Williams leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Jessie Williams; sister, Elizabeth Coleman; stepchildren, Arthur Stephens, Catherine Arthur, James Beckton and Julius Woods; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thank you to Latisa Wallace. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at Herbert Thompson Funeral Home. There will be viewing Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Herbert Thompson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
