Funeral Services for Mr. Leroy McArthur, 55, Daytona Beach, will be 1 PM, Saturday, August 31, 2013 at R. J. Gainous Funeral Home with a private Interment to follow. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM, today (Fri., Aug. 30) at R.J. Gainous Funeral Home. Mr. McArthur was born in Quitman, Georgia on July 27, 1958 to Aaron "A.R." McArthur and Wyomia Stokes. He was raised in Daytona Beach and was a 1975 graduate of Mainland High School. He attended Daytona Beach Community College where he majored in Machine Operations. In 1978 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served as an Electrical/Mechanical Equipment Repairman. After 3 years of service he was honorably discharged. He went on to become self employed as a contractor/ builder throughout Volusia County. He enjoyed, traveling, being with family and friends and listening to music. He was called home to rest on August 24, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father: Aaron McArthur and a sister: Erma Stokes. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother: Wyomia Stokes, Daytona Beach; four brothers: Larry Stokes, Miami, FL; Herbert McArthur (Linda), Willie McArthur, Tyrone "Rudy" McArthur, all of Daytona Beach; four sisters: Barbara Jean Stokes, Deloris Lee (Rufus), all of Daytona Beach, Diane Lindor (Stephan) Cora Stokes, all of Miami, FL; two aunts: Rachel Drinks, Betty Powell, both of Quitman, GA; three uncles: Willie James "Coot" Ellison, Frankie Ellison, Nathaniel Ellison, all of Quitman, GA; a brother-in-law: Charles Blair; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins and friends, including a close friend: Gwen Ford.
