Libbie Adelaide Duell, 87, of Daytona Beach, Florida died peacefully at her home on September 7, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. To those who knew her, she was "Addie", to those who loved her, she was "Mom", "Gram" and "Gigi". Born to James and Laurette Hazel Duell on August 20, 1926 in Moreau, New York, she was the center of any family gathering, an extraordinary cook, was quick of wit, an avid reader and excelled at writing lyrics and poems. When first married and raising her family, she lived in California and worked as a licensed real estate agent for Strout Realty. She then moved to New York and opened The Club Del Mar in Johnstown, New York, and the Nassau Lake Tavern in Morey Park, New York, later closing both businesses and returning to school. In 1968, she moved to Saranac Lake, New York and began her career with the State of New York, retiring in 1982 as the State Purchasing Agent. She obtained her Real Estate and Insurance Licenses from the State of Florida and retired from East Coast Insurance in 1996 at the age of 70. Her other accomplishments include being Treasurer of the CSCA State of New York and a member of various bowling leagues as she loved to bowl, having won numerous awards and trophies. She is predeceased by her first husband, Francis Michael Russo, and by her second husband, Bernard Sandrowicz, Sr. She is survived by seven children: F. Michael Russo, Jr. and his wife Debra of Barnhards Bay, New York; Laurette A. Hall of Daytona Beach, Florida; James S. Russo of Ormond Beach, Florida; Julia M. Russo of Jamesville, New York; Lisa M. Russo of Daytona Beach, Florida; Bernard Sandrowicz, Jr. and his wife Louise of Port Orange, Florida; and Libbie Duell Sandrowicz of Daytona Beach, Florida. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who truly cherished her. She is survived by sisters Patricia Duell Pratt and Mary Duell Dutcher, and brothers Richard Duell and Joseph Duell. She is predeceased by sisters Hazel Duell Palmer, Nellie M. Graham, Elizabeth W. Langsworthy and Ella Duell Eastman, and brothers Charles J. Duell, Frederick W. Duell, Warren E. Duell, and James F. Duell. A private Memorial Service will be held. She will be laid to rest in Chestertown Rural Cemetery, in Chestertown, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Vitas Hospice, V.C.C., 2381 Mason Avenue, Suite 100, Daytona Beach, Florida, 32117.
