Robert S. Ordway of New Smyrna Beach, FL. born September 12, 1923 and passed away on October 9, 2013. He was born in Concord, New Hampshire, the son of Sheldon and Anna Ordway and lived there until retirement in 1985. The Ordways owned a food store and after retiring moved to Florida in 1995. Mr. Ordway served with the 1st Marine Division, U. S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of Blazing Star Lodge, No. 11, a 32nd degree Mason and past President of the Concord Shriners Club. An honorary life member of the Concord Elks Lodge he served as Exalted Ruler in 1963 and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for New Hampshire in 1977. He was a life member of the VFW Post 4250, American Legion Post 17 and AMVETS Post 2 in New Smyrna Beach. Survived by his wife Alice Hughes Ordway, brother Glenn of Concord, NH, sons Richard of Ocala, FL and David of Alaska, daughter Linda Mercier of Deltona, FL, cousin Dean Ordway of New Hampshire and also grandchildren and great grandchildren. There are no calling hours and Baldwin Brothers are in charge of the cremation. He will be buried in the family plot in Bow, New Hampshire at the convenience of the family.
