James A. Cyr, 80, of Edgewater, an engineer for Martin-Marietta in Orlando, died Saturday, October 26, 2013. Mr. Cyr, a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, was born in Madawaska, Maine and moved to Edgewater in 1984 from Orlando. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach, the New Smyrna Beach-Edgewater Elks Lodge #1557 and American Legion Post #285, Edgewater. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marjorie I.; one son, James A., Jr. (Rebecca) of Fowler, Indiana; two grandchildren, Robert Lucas Cyr of Fowler and Lisa-Marie (Brandon) Spray of White Sands, New Mexico; two great grandchildren, Olivia and Jacob Spray also of White Sands and several nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hector and Louise Levesque Cyr and five brothers. There will be an Elks service at 6:30 PM Sunday, November 3, 2013 followed by a Memorial Funeral Service at 7PM at Dudley Edgewater Chapel, 433 N. Ridgewood Ave., Edgewater. Cremation will be by Dudley Crematory, New Smyrna Beach. Cremains burial will be at a later date in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
