- Margaret MacMurray (nee Brunn) of Daytona Beach died October 28, 2013 at Florida Memorial Hospital of coronary failure, at the age of 95. She was the widow of Kenneth, who passed away in 1984. Margaret was born in Buffalo, New York, in 1918 and lived most of her life in the Northeast. Margaret moved to Florida in 1981. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Daytona Beach and active in its Women's Guild. She attended Centenary Junior College in New Jersey and received her Bachelor's degree from Hood College in Maryland. After rearing her family of six children, she became a school teacher, both in New Jersey and Florida. After retiring from full-time work in the Daytona schools, she was a popular on-call substitute for many years. Margaret is survived by her children, Michael in Virginia; Timothy (Wendy) in California; daughter, Helen (William Ramsey) with whom she lived in Daytona Beach; and Deirdre (Dennis Ryan) in New Jersey; Christopher (Beth) in South Carolina; and Gregory (Brenda) in New Jersey; and seventeen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. On her eighty-fifth birthday, her greatest wish was to go para-sailing. Her family was relieved when it was too windy. She also enjoyed occasional rides on a Harley and reportedly played a pretty sharp game of bridge. There were a few days when she was not a fixture on the beach at Williams St. (she had to make sure the ocean was still there). A celebration of life will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church at a later date.
