Funeral services for Robert Wayne Neely, 80 who passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 will be on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the Lankford Funeral Home. Family will be receiving friends on Friday evening from 6:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the DeLand Memorial Garden with Military Honors provided by the United States Army. Robert Wayne Neely was born on June 6, 1933 in Upshire County, West Virginia to Denzil E. Neely and Berta Dove Neely. He graduated from Jane Lew High School in 1951 and married his High School Sweetheart Margaret Cayton. He served in the United States Army for two years. He farmed in West Virginia until 1963, then moved his family to DeLeon Springs, Florida where he farmed and raced Standardbred horses. He was a member of the Berlin Methodist Church. Bob loved team roping and trail riding. Every spare moment he wasn't on a tractor or farming he was on a horse. Bob passed away from an unexpected illness. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret, brother Ronald and his wife Barbara Neely, two sons, James Neely and Robert Neely, Jr. and wife Zelta, four grandchildren, Jimmy Neely, Jamie Neely, Peggy Neely and Jeremy Neely; eight great grandchildren, Cameron, Brandon, Bailey, Noah, Riley, Monica, Cade, and Hunter.
