JoAnn DeJarnette Radcliffe passed away Wednesday, November 27. She was the wife of Jim Radcliffe, the daughter of Betty DeJarnette and the late James Walker DeJarnette, and sister of the late Sheila DeJarnette Nolan. Raised in Richmond, VA, and Daytona Beach, JoAnn moved to Jacksonville in 1970 and for 16 years worked for William Cook Advertising Agency, where she met and married her husband, Jim Radcliffe. For 14 years, until retirement a year ago, they were Wild Birds Unlimited store owners. JoAnn was very active in her community, having been a Rotarian at both the South Jacksonville Rotary Club and the Ponte Vedra Beach Sunset Rotary Club, where she also served as Club President. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Ponte Vedra. She is survived by her sister, Karin Augat; son, Chad Nolan and his wife, Brandi; grandsons, Reece and Jaiden of Spartanburg, SC; stepdaughter, Courtney Radcliffe Devich and her husband, Bret Devich, and their daughters, Scarlet and Colette of Baltimore, and a large family of cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra Beach on Friday, December 6, at noon. In lieu of flowers, JoAnn and her family request that money be donated to ALS Research.
