Irene G. Black was born March 13, 1930 to the late George Lee Green in DeLand and graduated from Euclid High School in 1948. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was later joined in matrimony to Herman Black. Until her illness, Irene was a faithful, devoted member of Bethel A. M. E. Church in which she was a lifetime member. Irene leaves to cherish her memory of her life: devoted husband, Herman Black; daughter, Natalie Watts Brown, DeLand; granddaughter, Shandris Irene Hinson (Denny), Deltona; great-grandsons: Evan and Blake Hinson, Deltona; sister: Evelyn Sharpe, Springfield, MA; devoted nieces, Sharon Taylor and Linda Green; a
host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends. A celebration of her life will be held 11am Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Bethel A. M. E. Church, 226 East Howry Avenue, DeLand, Pastor Jeffery Dove and Dr. Kevin James, officiating. Burial will follow the services at Union Cemetery, DeLand, with a repast to follow at Bethel. Visitation will be held Friday from 4pm to 7pm at J. E. Cusack Mortuary and Saturday from 10am until service time in the church.
