Herbert Dallas Brower, Sr., 89, a native of Timicum, PA., died peacefully in his bed Saturday at his home surrounded by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mr. Brower moved his family to Daytona Beach, Florida in 1959 from Brookhaven, PA. and has been a resident of Volusia County until his death. He served the Lord as a deacon and then an elder at South Haven Christian Church, Daytona Beach and then served for 15 years in the home based church, Household of Faith. Herbie was a winning athlete excelling in every sport offered at Prospect High in Prospect, PA. Days after graduating high school Herbie served his country as an Army medic in Europe during World War II. He was a skilled finish carpenter and retired from the USPS at which time he lived his life as a farmer on Grandmother's Farm. Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Clark, Stuart, FL, Linda Benson, Richmond, VA, Terri Brower, DeLeon Springs, and two sons Jeff Brower, DeLeon Springs, and John Clark, Stuart, FL., 15 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. There will be a memorial service held at First Baptist Church of DeLeon Springs, February 1, 11 AM.
