Viola P. Paradis, 91, of DeLand, FL went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 31, 2014. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8th at 2:30pm at Allen-Summerhill Chapel. Viola was born November 17, 1922 in Fort Kent, Maine, moving to DeLand in 1978 from Windsor Lockes, Connecticut after retiring from AT&T as a switchboard operator. She enjoyed watching football, sewing, crocheting beanie hats and lap blankets for charity, bowling and her nightly Miller Lite before dinner. As an avid bowler into her eighties, she attended Ladies National Tournaments and bowled in the Senior Olympics with partner Jerry Stone, winning many gold and silver medals. Viola was predeceased by parents Mary and Levite, husband Claude and two brothers, Harold and Joseph. To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her adopted family and friends, Susan and Jerry Stone, Nancy Scharf and Marilyn Doster, among a circle of bowling friends.
