Johnnie Brodus, 91, New Smyrna Beach, and entrepreneur, died March 6, 2014 at Halifax Health-Hospice of Volusia /Flagler. Born in Jones County, Georgia, he moved to this area in 1963 from Georgia. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Curlie Bordus; sons: Michael A. Hives (Tara) of Edgewater, FL, Brian A. Hives of Edgewater, FL, Earl Robinson of Daytona Beach, FL, Ervin Pitts of Bessmer, Alabama, Issac Pitts of Melbourne, FL, Anthony Pitts of Valdosta, Georgia; daughters: Cherie D. Aderhold (Bernard) of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Chrissie A. Jackson (Michael) of Edgewater, FL, Channa E. Hives of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Ta'mori Brodus of New Smyrna Beach, FL; brother Frank Broadus of Bradley, Georgia; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sat., March 15, 2014 at Apostolic Faith Temple, 300 Milford Place, New Smyrna Beach, FL, with Bishop Robert B. Thomas officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Apostolic Faith Temple. Burial will be at Glencoe Geiger Cemetery.
