Raphael Dale Goss, 77, of Daytona Beach passed away on March 17, 2014 at his home. He was born on July 30, 1936 in Seymour, Missouri. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1979; then worked for Federal Civil Service until retirement and moved to Daytona Beach in 2001. Dale enjoyed golfing, lounging in the sun, traveling with his wife, and sharing stories and his quick wit with his friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Raphael Woodson and Frances June, and two brothers Gene and Bobby. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Starley; three daughters Karen, Lisa, Ginger and son Danny; four grandchildren Ryan, Hanna, Angelo, and Katie; two great grandchildren Molly and Joey; and one spoiled miniature schnauzer Heidi. A viewing will be held between the hours of 11:00 A.M. and l:00 P.M. on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida 32114. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. Burial with military honors will immediately follow at Daytona Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Vietnam Veterans of America Daytona Beach Chapter 1048, Inc., at 4141 Falling Leaf Drive, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32168.
