James H. Riddle, age 96, went to the Lord on April 7, 2014. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Riddle and they lived at 600 Winchester Street in Daytona Beach for 40 years, before he retired to Cleveland, Alabama. Born and raised in Alabama, he was the oldest of 12 children. He was a former employee for the City of Daytona Beach. He is survived by his children, Gayle R. Pate, Gloria J. Benton, and Sonny Riddle. He also has five grandchildren, Kevan J. Riddle, Sean Riddle, James McClure, Amanda D. Cocker-ham, and Heather Duff. He has nine great-grand-children. He was a member of the Carpenters Union and the VFW. He was a wounded American Hero from World War II and came home with many metals, including the Purple Heart. He was a man of integrity and honor and was buried with Military honors at Dailey's Cemetary on April 10, 2014. I am very sure he was welcomed into Heaven by family and friends that have gone on before. May we all strive to be better people for ever knowing and loving him. We love you and miss you very much, Sonny, Jean, and Gayle.
