A Service of Worship celebrating the life of Elizabeth Washington Butler, 67, West Euclid Avenue, who departed this life Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at home, will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 15, at the Greater Union First Baptist Church, 240 South Clara Avenue, DeLand, with Pastor Troy A. Bradley, Sr. officiating. Calling hours are today (Friday) from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Arthur Mack Funeral Home and Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at Greater Union. Burial will follow the services at Union Cemetery, DeLand. Elizabeth Washington Butler was born April 1, 1940, in DeLand to Sylvester Washington and the late Sarah Washington. She was a 1958 graduate of Euclid High School. She and her husband, Donald, moved to New York City shortly after high school where they resided for many years. They returned to their hometown in the late 1990s and she reaffiliated her membership with Greater Union First Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as a Trustee and the Church's Financial Secretary. Her husband preceded her in death, May 27, 2004. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sophia Lorraine Butler, and brother, Ronald Washington. She leaves to cherish her memories: her father, Sylvester (Judy) Washington, Erial, N.J.; daughter, Dorinda (Reinaldo) Perez, Lilburg, Ga.; brother, James Washington, Hackensack, N.J.; sister, Sandra Williams, DeLand; grandchildren, Tonia and Troy Perez, Lilburn; great-grandchild, Vincent Andre' Perez, Lilburn; aunt, Eliza Washington, DeLand; two sisters-in-law, Vivian (Bo) Davenport, DeLand, Joan (Bob) Cox, Deltona; two brothers-in-law, Lorenza (Charlene) Butler, Hope Well, Va., Earl (Debbie) Butler, DeLand; a special niece, Tammye Hinson; a devoted niece, Natasha Booker; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
