Floyd Edward Foster

Floyd Edward Foster, 87, entered into rest on January 22, 2013 in his home following an illness. He was born on August 4, 1925 in Marionville, Mo. to John Joy and Lucy Odessa (Head) Foster.

Floyd moved to Neosho in 1957 and began his career at Rocketdyne. During that time he worked on the engine that propelled the first astronaut into space. Floyd retired from Teledyne as a Senior Engineer in jet engine overhaul in 1990. During his tenure with Teledyne he was sent to Europe, the Middle East, and South America as a consultant on jet engine programs. He was also a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ. At the age of 84, Floyd had the pleasure of accompanying other World War II Army veterans on the 3-Day Honor Tour.

Floyd married Eloise Imogene Jones on August 10, 1950, and she survives. He is also survived by his children: Brenda Lea Cummings, Linda Rae Kreger, Carl Leroy Foster; grandchildren: Sara Foster, Zachary Foster, Grace Kreger, Ross Kreger; brother, Bob Foster; sisters: Adalee Todhunter, Bonnie Foster.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 in Hillcrest Church of Christ Neosho, MO.
