Glen Elmer Pierce

Glen Elmer Pierce was born January 13, 1925, to Richard Thomas & Winnie (House) Pierce, and passed away on June 28, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Wallace Pierce.

He served in Germany during WWII, and after the war, went to work for the phone company, retiring from Contel after 41+ years.

In December 1947, he married Ether Williams. They had two children, Susan Kay and Glen Thomas.

Glen was a Life Member of the American Legion and VFW, and a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years; daughter Susan (husband Steve) Erickson of Effingham, KS; son Glen Thomas (wife Cheryl) of Springfield, MO; grandson Dash (wife Leslie) of Springfield, MO and granddaughter Kayla Erickson of Emporia, KS.

Visitation will be at Gorman-Scharpf, 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 5, with services immediately after, and interment at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Covenant Presbyterian's Building Fund, or to Compassus Hospice (Springfield). Memorials can be left at the funeral home.
