Kelley Jean Stone Jones
Kelley Jean Stone Jones, 44, of Springfield, Missouri passed away Wednesday morning, March 20, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 1, 1968 in St. Louis, Missouri to Reverend Joe David Stone and Peggy Jean Stone. She graduated from Fort Zumwalt High School in O'Fallon, Missouri.
Kelley attended Evangel University in Springfield, MO for her associate's degree in business and later earned her bachelor's degree in the same field. In 2006, she obtained a dual concentration master's degree in Professional Counseling and Marriage/Family Therapy and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. She went on to become a licensed professional counselor and a registered play therapist. She spent six years at the Victim Center in Springfield, MO as a play therapist and counselor and was an adjunct professor at Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.
Kelley was strong her faith in Jesus Christ and attended James River Assembly.
She is survived by her children, Blake (Ellen) Jones of O'Fallon, MO and Brooke Jones of Springfield, MO; her sisters Robin (Mark) Withers of Springfield and Sherry Stone of O'Fallon; and her beloved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Joe David Stone and Peggy Stone, and her brother David Keith Stone.
Memorial services will be officiated by Keith Waggoner and will take place Saturday, March 23, 2013. Visitation is from 1-2 pm and the funeral 2-3 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home East (3540 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO. 65809), with burial immediately following at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
