Larry J. Wilks
Larry James Wilks, age 69, passed away in his home on February 20, 2014.
He was born December 27, 1944 (during the big one) in Berkeley, California to Lawrence F, and Mary Winton Wilks. The Family was from Missouri, but WWII
brought a lot of people together in their efforts in the Bay area. Larry graduated from Aurora, Missouri High School in 1962. He was a U.S. Air Force
Veteran, attained the rank of Sgt. and served most of his tour with the Air Force Security Service on the Island of Crete. For many year's that meant he was a Communications Specialist. After service, Larry worked for Juvenile Shoe, M.D. Pneumatics, and Yellow Freight. He retired from Wattner-Wilks Productions in 2008.
Larry made a lot of friend's buying Television and Radio, up and down the highways in the midwest. But his greatest Passion was Fishing. Like his father, and grandfather before him. He didn't just like to fish, he was Very Good at it. From Fellow's Lake alone, hundred's of Bag's of Fresh Bass Fillet's have been shared.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and his longtime partner Dee Small.
Larry is survived by his brother John, and wife Joyce Wilks, their children Michael and Kristina Wilks, and 1st cousin Gary Wilks.
Graveside services, and inurnment with Military Honors will be held at 2pm Monday, March 17th, 2014 at Missouri Veteran's Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-2 pm. Friday, March 14, 2014 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
