Lowell David Fowler
Lowell David Fowler, 82, passed away peacefully June 14, 2014, in Marionville, MO. He was born September 22, 1931 in Kansas City, Kansas to Darnell and Clarissa Fowler. He was united in marriage on February 11, 1953 in Bentonville, AR. to Mary Fowler. They were married for 59 years. He was a lifelong member of the Assemblies of God Church and a devoted Christian who remained faithful in his beliefs throughout his life. Lowell was a talented musician who sang and played guitar. He often used these abilities in service of his congregation. Lowell was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War
. He worked for Rock Island Railroad for 30 years and retired from the railroad.
He is survived by his brothers; Lynn Fowler and wife Rita of Oregon, Jim Fowler of Overland Park, KS. His daughters; Sandy Orr and husband Wayne of Rosalia, KS., Carolyn McMurtery and husband Scott of Dandridge, TN., Joanne Mayhue and husband Mike of Aurora, MO., and son, David Fowler and wife Delynn of Douglas, KS. Also surviving are his sister-in-law Helen Mickelson and husband Dick of Wichita, KS., 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Fowler, granddaughter Jessica Tate, brothers Leo, Bob, and Johnny Fowler, and sister-in-law Emmajean Fowler. Funeral services will be Friday, June 20, 2014, at 10:00am in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday night, June 19, 2014, 6:00-7:30pm. Chaplain Bob Elder will be officiating.
