Norma Jean Fischer

Norma Jean Fischer

Norma Jean Fischer, 74, Rogersville, went to meet her Lord Thursday, February 21, 2013 with her husband and sister by her side. She was born April 11, 1938 in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Herbert and Molly Moffis. Norma was a loyal employee with General Electric for several years. She loved gardening and would often share that love by giving fresh cut flowers to her sons' families. She spent many hours antiquing in the company of her sister Kay. She also had a love of reading as well as working puzzles. Norma was loved by everyone who met her; she had a soft and gentle way about her that never went unnoticed. As a longtime member of Campbell United Methodist Church, she had a devout faith in God and believed in his grace and mercy. She enjoyed spending time with her sons and their families; she was very family-oriented and family always came first. Most of all she dearly loved her husband of 47 years, Richard, who was always at her side. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Orbit Moffis. Survivors include her husband, Richard; two sons, Christian Fischer and wife Marsha, and Sean Fischer and wife Laura; two sisters, Kay McMahon and husband Gene, and Joan Parsley; three grandchildren, Jack, Grace and Madison; and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a memorial service following at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, February 26, 2013 at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. The family requests memorial donations be made to Campbell United Methodist Church, 1747 E. Republic Road, Springfield, MO 65804.
