Robert Len "Bob" Hunter
Robert Len "Bob" Hunter, age 73, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, with his family by his side. He was born October 11, 1939, in Crane, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janet Simmons Hunter. Also surviving are his two daughters: Susan Lynne McWilliams and her husband, Mike of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Teri Anne Hunter of Republic, Missouri; his mother-in-law, Elaine Skogman; a niece, Robbin; and a nephew, Rick.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Dorothy Sasse Hunter; his brother, Gene Hunter; and his nephew, Tony Hunter.
Bob grew up in Crane, Missouri, where he graduated from Crane High School in 1957. After high school, Bob joined the United States Navy
, serving for ten years. He then worked for Pav Chemical Company and later Clark Grave Vault Company. For many years he worked with his brother, Gene, at Marshfield Casket Company and then became a salesman for Artco Casket Company, where he was currently employed. For twenty-nine years, Bob was the announcer for the Aurora Houn' Dawg football and basketball games. He had been a member of many organizations, both professional and philanthropic, and was an avid golfer. He loved his family and was very proud of his two daughters.
Bob was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri. Pastor Kathy Osiel will conduct the services. A private burial with military honors will be held in Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday in the Aurora United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Bob Hunter Memorial Scholarship Fund, in memory of Bob. An account has been established at First Independent Bank in Aurora.
