Ruth M. Casey

Ruth M. Casey, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in her home in Springfield, Mo.

A native of North Dakota, she attended Minot State College and Northwestern University, Chicago. Ill.

During World War II, she joined the Red Cross and spent the war years in Europe serving in army hospitals and hospital ships, and in Paris assisting war brides in their transition to life in the United States. In 1951, she was united in marriage to Lieutenant Colonel Aloysius J. Casey. She was employed as a social worker in Chicago, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Mo., and Topeka, Kan. before retiring to Springfield.

Mrs. Casey was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Elias and Elizabeth (Razee) Stenvick, of Minot, ND.; and one brother, Luther T. Stenvick.

She is survived by two nephews, Jeffrey Toycen of Ottawa, Canada and Luther T. Stenvick, III of New York State.
