Shirley Angie Davis
Shirley Angie Davis, age 77, of Flemington, MO, formerly of Somerset, KY, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Citizens Memorial Hospital Bolivar, MO. She was born January 14, 1937, in Cincinnati, OH, to Encil and Ruth (Hines) Baker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Somerset Kentucky. She is a retired United States Army
Command Sergeant Major having served during Viet Nam and the Gulf Wars, where she served her country with distinction. She was a very generous and giving person and an animal lover. Shirley was loved by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother in-law Ted Dibbens.
She is survived by her daughter Lana R. Duda and her husband Paul of Ozark, MO; three grandsons: Paul G. Duda, Joshua Duda and wife Jennifer and great granddaughter Lilly, and Josiah Duda and wife Vanessa and great grandson Gabriel all of Springfield, MO; three sisters: Rosetta Parker of Blue Springs, MO, Dolores Hudson and husband James of Lexington, KY, and Pauline Ruddick and friend Junior Sawyer of Flemington, MO; her Picaneese dog and close companion Sweetpea; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Leslie Welch who helped care for Shirley this last year and during her final days.
Memorial graveside services with full Military Honors will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, July 25, 2014, at the Missouri Veterans
Cemetery: 5201 S. Southwood, Springfield, MO, 65804, with Rev. JoAnn Martin officiating. A musical selection of "In The Garden" will be rendered by Denise Duda.
