Warren Lee Smith

Warren Lee Smith, 58, of Republic, Mo. passed away Monday March 18, 2013.

Born March 1, 1955 in Kansas City, KS to Harold M. and Marilyn L. (Cleaver) Smith. A 1973 graduate of Winnetonka High School, Warren was the quarterback for the football team. He attended UMKC and started his career with Missouri Gas Energy. Warren had 25 years with Kansas Gas Service and was active with the company's softball team. Relocating to Republic, Mo. in 2001 to work for City Utilities of Springfield, retiring in 2013. Warren was very active in his son's sports team's as a coach and their number one fan. An avid hunter, Warren enjoyed fishing on Truman Lake with family and friends.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his ex-wife, Suzie; three sons, Jason (Cathy), Dane, and Kyle Smith; brothers, Keith and Wayne Smith; sister, Brenda (Smith) Nairn; grandchildren, Lindsey and Gavin.

Kansas City memorial services are set for 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 in White Chapel Funeral Home, Gladstone, Mo. with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Springfield memorial services are set for 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23 in IBEW Union Hall, 2902 E. Division, Springfield, MO 65803.
