Dear Smith family. I am so saddened by your loss. I met Dave while I was a Pike at SMSU and he graciously gave of his time on the fraternity housing board. He was very kind and considerate to us young college kids and provided us with great leadership and counsel. He is a great example of what fraternity brotherhood is. God bless your family and it was a pleasure for me to have spent the small amount of time I did with him.
Your family is in our prayers.
Sincerely, Kevin Wadhams, former SMC and fraternity brother at Zeta Chi

"Gee, David!" and I were friends in high school and college. Although it has been twenty-five years since I visited with him, the memories still bring smiles and sometimes laughter! I especially recall when he became "smitten" with Becky! Hopefully your memories will comfort you now, at the time of his passing.

It has been a blessing to have had the opportunity to know David, as an Elk, a friend, and a mentor. David was a true Elk in every sense of the word. His caring demeanor and quiet nature will always be remembered. His presence will remain in the hearts of his friends and his memory forever within the walls of our Lodge. He will be truly missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Becky, and the rest of your family.
