I worked with Karl at Silver Dollar City in 1980. We worked at the diving bell attraction. He was a talented fellow with a great sense of humor. May God bless him. Best wishes to his family and friends.

Karl, i miss you every day as i know your family does. You were my best friend ever. Went to a dance the other night. Watching the kids dance the things that you taught them it was like watching you dance with them again. Thank you for letting me into your life all those years ago.

Karl was such magnet of joy. I always wanted to be near him at our meetings. He was always very kind to me, gave me lots of hugs and many rides. Not to mention, tremendous amounts of laughter. But most of all, Karl gave me words to live by and improve my life. His absence has left a hole in my heart, as it has many others. My prayers go out to David and his family. I love you, my friend. Godspeed.

I think Paul Meek said it best... "He was a Brother in 'Life With Father.' He was an angel in 'Heaven Can Wait.' He was a servant in 'Scapino,' but most of all he was a good friend! You will be missed Karl Satterfield! You were a gift!"

You will be missed by all of us that had the pleasure of knowing you. You touched more lives than you realized. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of your family and friends. Rest in peace. -- RHS Class of 1982.

I have known Karl since we were 5 years old and in kindergarten together, First Baptist Church and in Drama class in Rolla Public Schools. Karl was quick and funny with his imitations of teachers and classmates, and always very kind to all. I enjoyed catching up with him years ago at a High School Reunion and even ran in to him much later out in Barry County and he was, you guessed it- out on the dance floor dancing of course. My sympathies to his family and loved ones.

I went one time with Karl to the country. I remember him laying on this giant rock in a field soaking up the sun. His smile was radiant. That is how I will always remember him. Godspeed.

David, I'm having a hard time finding words right now. Looking back on old photos fills me with a bittersweet mix of joy and pain. I wish I was there to give you a hug - for entirely selfish reasons. You were the light of Karl's life (and you his.)

Karl touched so many lives. I'm grateful to have known him, learned from him, and been blessed by his friendship. It will hurt for a long while, but, eventually, remembering conversations, lessons, and his slightly twisted sense of humor will simply bring a smile. God bless and comfort all who loved him.

Karl was exuberant and hilarious. He could tell stories that would leave you clutching your gut with laughter and give solid, wise advice. One of my favorite memories is of Karl at the ballroom, fishing through his giant dufflebag of CDs for the perfect waltz song and removing, with a flourish, the soundtrack to "Evita." "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina," will forever remind me of him. Karl was a beautiful dancer and an excellent friend; it was an honor and a pleasure to know him and learn from him. My thoughts are with his family and my heart goes out to David, who he mentioned multiple times during every lesson. He is greatly missed.

I still feel in shock about this...so very hard to believe that this bigger than life, vibrant man who gave so much to so many is no longer with us. I met him and David at one of his first meetings and after every meeting, he would be on the floor with my dog rubbing her belly. Such a sweet man. My heart goes out to you David and his family that he so much treasured.
