Benny Crisp

Benny L. Crisp passed away on February 12, 2014. He was born on March 24, 1940. He was the son of Geneva Crisp Ward and Herman Fincher, both of whom preceded him in death. He had resided in Branson, Missouri since 1995, working with his wife, Judy, in several flea market adventures. Judy still lives in their home in Branson.

Ben had always been a wise business man and had been involved in many ventures throughout his life. His favorite line of interest was in flea markets. He loved to go to auctions.

Ben had many major health problems throughout his life, but he always met them with a determination to get better and always kept his sense of humor. However, his Emphysema began to wear him down and he recently indicated to Judy that he was tired of fighting.

Ben and Judy had been married 48 years, celebrating their latest anniversary on November 21, 2013. He had hoped to be able to celebrate a 50th, but the Lord decided that that was not to be. Although he sounded like a hard-hearted man, he was a softie at heart. He did know that the only way to win entrance into Heaven was by asking Christ into his heart, which he had done as a young man and a few years ago he had renewed his faith one evening by praying for forgiveness.

Due to the unusual circumstances of his birth, Ben always strived to prove his worthiness and was a quite a work-a-holic until the COPD finally played it's hand. He would urge anyone to quit smoking or never to start. The ravages of that disease are heart breaking.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Galloway Cemetery in Springfield, Mo. under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
