"Tip" Lawrence

Clifford C. "Tip" Lawrence was born on April 25, 1939 in Cabool, MO, to Frank A. and Doris E. (Steffens) Lawrence. Tip died of cancer.

Tip graduated in the class of Marshfield 1957. He loved all his class members and really enjoyed all their get togethers. The class of 1957 will be honorary pallbearers.

Tip then joined the Navy and served from 1957-1959 on the BonHomme Richard.

He then started working for his grandfather C.F. Steffens and father Frank Lawrence as an electrician at Northside Electric. He joined IBEW 453 and worked more than 40 years for them. The last 35 years was spent working as an electrician at Lily-Tulip, Sweetheart Cup of Springfield.

Tip married Annette Wendt on December 6, 1980. They spent a lot of time traveling, fishing, and going to Cardinal Baseball games. They always enjoyed life to the fullest. Tip was extremely proud of all his children and grand-children. Tip and Annette had two wonderful sons, Steven L. Lawrence and Michael L. Lawrence and wife, Michelle. Tip was very proud of them because they were both Eagle Scouts.

Grandson Mark L. Lawrence was Tip's best buddy. They did everything together. When Mark showed in the fairs Tip was ready with the camera. Tip is also survived by two wonderful daughters, Stephanie Ingels and Lisa and Rex Coleman. Terrific grandchildren, Alex and Ashley Ingels, Hailey and Jackson Coleman, one great-grand-daughter. Tip is also survived by a brother, Michael A. Lawrence and wife Nell, one sister, Syndey Stewart, father-in-law, Herbert G. Wendt and brother-in-law Herbert L. Wendt, and wife Becky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Terry Lawrence, and neice Heather Lawrence, his mother-in-law, Eva Jean (Bateman) Wendt. Please make donations to the .

Funeral Service for Clifford C. "Tip" Lawrence will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in Day Funeral Home, Marshfield, MO. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post 3404. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Rogersville, MO. No formal visitation is planned. Friends may call at their convenience at the funeral home.
