Earl P. Flint

Mr. Earl P. Flint, 96, Bolivar, Mo. passed away in his home on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 7:45 a.m. following an extended illness.

Earl was born in Cliquot, Mo. in Polk County and was a lifelong resident of the Bolivar and Polk County areas. He was a graduate of Bolivar High School of 1933. He was an Army Veteran of World War II obtaining the rank of T-5 in the Army Field Artillery. He retired in 1982 as a Line-Foreman with Southwest Electric Coop of Bolivar after 36 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bolivar.

Earl Flint and Ava Lee Jones were united in marriage on August 28, 1946. To this union three daughters were born. Together they were privileged to share over 66 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents William T. and Mary Christina (Hahn ) Flint; a brother, Charles Flint; and two sisters, Hazel Poindexter and Ruby Troyer; and a niece Hazel Belle Kimpson.

He is survived by his loving family: wife Ava Lee of the home; three daughters: Karen and husband Steve Schmitt of Springfield, Mo. Charlotte and husband Mark Curtis of Kansas City, Mo. and Teresa and husband Marty Stump of Holden, Missouri; four grandchildren: Sarah Schmitt, Jeff Schmitt, Brett Stump and Michelle Stump; two step grandchildren, Tyler Curtis and Emily Curtis; three nephews: Clayton Troyer, Tom Flint and David Flint; and niece Linda Goodwin.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Butler Funeral Home Chapel, Bolivar, with Rev. Bill Hooper and Rev. Ray Leininger officiating with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery, Bolivar. Military Honors under the auspices of the Missouri Military Honors Team.

Friends may call on Thursday morning after 11:00 a.m. in the Butler Chapel Bolivar, Mo. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. till service time at 2:00 p.m.

Arrangements and services are under the care and direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Mo.
