John M. Ringenberg
John M. Ringenberg, 88, Springfield, passed from this life at 2:01 a.m., Sunday, April 7, 2013 in Cox Medical Center South. He was born April 26, 1924 in Strafford, Missouri, the son of the late William Samuel and Lou Emma (Marcum) Ringenberg. He was united in marriage on April 1, 1947 in Columbus, Kansas to Hazel L. Bergman. She preceded him in death in 2008. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine and Maxine and a brother, Bill Ring. John was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. After almost 40 years with Mid-America Dairymen, Inc., he retired in 1984 as Senior Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. He was active and served in many work related local and national organizations and was past president of the Dry Milk Institute and past president of the Traffic Club of Springfield. He enjoyed golf and was a longtime member of the Greene Hills Country Club in Willard; he was also a member of Elk's Lodge No. 409, a fifty year member of Strafford Lodge No. 608, a fifty year member of Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple and lifetime member of the Royal Order of Jesters. He is survived by his only son, Mark Ringenberg, Springfield; two grandsons, Samuel Ringenberg, Springfield and Thomas Ringenberg, Lawrence, Kansas; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
A visitation for friends and family will be held from 6 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, April 11, 2013 in J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2013 in the funeral home. The in lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, St. Louis Unit, c/o Abou Ben Adhem Temple, 601 St. Louis St., Springfield, MO 65806.
