Oina B. "Tonna" Kirby Eubanks

Oina B. "Tonna" Kirby Eubanks, age 89, Springfield, MO went to her Heavenly home on June 3, 2013 at 5:07 a.m. She was born January 26, 1924 to John D. Kirby and Mattie Milam Kirby of Carroll County, TN. They both preceded her in death. Tonna received a degree in interior decorating in 1961 from The Chicago School of Interior Decoration and opened a business as a decorating consultant while living in St. Louis and Kansas City. She moved to Springfield where she started working for Dillard's Department Store in 1975 and retired in 1991. She was a member of Second Baptist Church since March, 2000 where she was very active in the 2nd Notes Senior Choir, the Bread Ministry, commissioned as a Stephen Minister, and commonly referred to as a "prayer warrior" in her Sunday school class. Tonna was a loving and caring person who loved life and lived it to the fullest. She made a lot of friends as a member of the Springfield Hospitality Club and the Fun Lovin' Red Hatters of Republic, MO. Her greatest joy was being a child of God and sharing the good news with everyone she met. Tonna will be remembered as a strong and determined woman whose love and unwavering faith in our Lord Jesus gave her the hope, strength and encouragement through her final days.

Tonna will be deeply missed by all her friends and her "heart family", both near and far, and will remain in our hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013 in Greenlawn Funeral Home South (441 W. Battlefield) with visitation at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor may be made to Second Baptist Church Missions Fund or to the . Inurnment will be at a later date in Bruceton, Tennessee.
