The Guest Book is expired.
Pearl (Louise Cooper Boals) Cole of Scottsdale, Arizona, resident of Springfield from 1948 until 2004, passed away April 7th, 2013 at age 94. She had moved to Arizona to live closer to her younger daughter.
Pearl was born in Bentonville, Arkansas on September 23, 1918, to William Dana and Daisy Ethel Cooper. After skipping two grades, she moved to Springfield at 16, to live with her sister and attend business school.
She worked at Citizen's Bank in the proof department. There she met her first husband, John Boals, who worked in the same department of another bank.
Pearl and John had two daughters, Janine Pierson of Vancouver, Washington, and Anita Dalzell of Scottsdale, AZ and Victor, MT.
After John's death in 1978, Pearl took up square dancing. She met her second husband, James Cole, and they married in 1987. In the winter, they visited Arizona where they enjoyed many square dances. They also traveled frequently, and went to the Olympics.
During the early 1990's, Pearl spent many hours at assisted living facilities, visiting and taking care of Jim, who passed away in 2001. Her older brother and sister, Roy and Ethel, were also in assisted living during some of that time, and she visited them frequently as well.
While living at the Renaissance Retirement Community in Sun Lakes, Arizona, Pearl met her last sweetie, Bill Ritchie. They were very close and loved watching Diamondback baseball games together. Bill passed away in 2011.
Pearl had planned for many years to donate her body to science through Science Care, and she was successful at that. In addition to her daughters, Pearl was survived by three grandsons and 3 great-grandchildren.
There will be a short memorial service on Wednesday, June 19th, at 11 am, in Brentwood Christian Church, located at 1900 Barataria in Springfield. There will be a reception following.
