Richard Willingham

Richard C. Willingham passed away in Springfield, MO on September 13 after a short illness.

Born July 27, 1931 in Chicago, IL, he attended Morgan Park High School and the University of Missouri, Columbia. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Dick worked in various broadcasting positions in Springfield including as an announcer at KWTO radio, as news anchor at KY3 TV, and as news director at KSMU radio. Dick was an active member of University Heights Church where he served as a deacon and member of the Chancel Choir.

Dick was preceded in death by parents, Clay and Dora Willingham, and sister Joyce Willingham. He is survived by his wife Ann Willingham, daughter Susan Willingham of Springfield, sister Billie Tucker of Marshfield, one niece, and one nephew.

A visitation will be held Monday, September 16, 6-8 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield with a memorial service Tuesday, September 17, 2:30 p.m. at University Heights Baptist Church, Springfield.

Memorial donations may be made to University Heights Baptist Church.
