Rue Bixler Fields
Rue Bixler Fields, 86, of Rogersville passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at his home. Rue was born on Octorber 14, 1926 in the Oak Grove community of Springfield to Samuel Preston and Ada "Mallory" Fields.
He grew up in the Dutch Hill community and attended the Fordland High School and was a member fo the Fordland Church of Christ. He retired from Hiland Diary as shop stewart and member of the Teamsters Local 245. Rue was also retired Military US ARMY after 35 years serving in Korea, and VFW member.
Rue was married to Virginia "Layne" on December 29, 1948 and she preceded him in death on May 15, 1996. He was married to Mary "Stone" Glaubitz on June 13, 1998 and she survives of the home. Also surviving is his two daughters Carolyn Cantrell of Rogersville and Wanda Sharar and husband Chris of Moreno Valley, CA; step daughter Glenda Bruce and husband Tom of Rogersville and daughter in law Lisa Fields of Springfield; one brother Herbert Fields of Monroe, GA; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Rue was also preceded in death by a son Martin Fields; grandson Shane Sharar his parents and a brother Samuel Preston Fields Jr.
Services will be at 10:00 am. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Fordland Church of Christ with burial in the Fordland Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be made to the Fair Haven Children's Home Strafford.
