William P. "Bill" Ramey

William P. "Bill" Ramey passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012. He was born April 25, 1926 to Arch and Thelma Ball Ramey in Springfield, MO. Bill married Ruth Robertson on May 16, 1947 at Woodland Heights Presbyterian Church and to this union two sons were born, Mark and Neil.

Bill served in the Air Force during the Korean War and always commented on how cold it was in Fairbanks, Alaska. He worked for Springfield City Utilities, first as a Bus Driver, then at the Power Plant and finally Supervisor at the S.W. Power Plant. Bill was an avid golfer and was a charter member of the Green Hills Golf Club in Willard. He was also a member of the Woodland Heights Presbyterian Church and the Elk's Lodge of Springfield

Bill enjoyed western books and movies, gardening and was very proud of his roses, and was a St. Louis Cardinal fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 60 years, Ruth. Bill is survived by his sons Mark and Neil Ramey; grandchildren Jeremiah and Tim Ramey and Katherine Scott; two great grandchildren Ava and Boston Scott; numerous nieces and nephews and many golfing buddies.

A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home, 1635 N. Benton, Springfield with interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held from Noon to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service in the funeral home.

Family have requested memorial donations be made in Bill's name to either the , 1944 E. Sunshine, Springfield, MO 65804 or Woodland Heights Presbyterian Church, 722 W. Atlantic St., Springfield, MO 65803.
