Aubrey Earl Owens

Aubrey Earl Owens, the son of Jerry "Earl" and Gladys (Whinrey) Owens, was born September 29, 1939. He passed away March 2, 2014, at 7:21 a.m. in his home, surrounded by his family. His age was 74 years, 5 months and 2 days.

Aubrey was born near Halltown, Missouri and was a lifelong resident of the Halltown and Bois D' Arc areas. Aubrey graduated from Miller High School in 1957 and he was a retired employee from Harry Cooper Supply, after 16 years of Service. Prior to Harry Coopers he was with Dayco Inc. for 21 years. He was an active member of the Bois D' Arc United Methodist Church, where he had been past President of the Methodist Men's Group. He was a member of the Gate of the Temple Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Springfield, Mo. and the Rice Camp Association.

Aubrey Owens and Erma Ann Squibb were united in marriage September 25, 1966. To this union two children were born. Together they were privileged to share over 47 years. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jerry "Earl" Owens on September 25, 1989 and Gladys (Whinrey) Owens on December 21, 1996; also a brother Sammie Owens in 1971.

He is survived by his loving family: wife, Erma; son, Chad and wife Kara Owens; daughter, Melissa "Missy" and husband Jamie Moreland; five grandchildren: Jacob Moreland, Alexa Owens, Tate Moreland, Jackson Owens and Sam Moreland all of the Bois D' Arc area; two sisters: Louise Floyd and Ella Mae Burrell both of Ash Grove, Mo.; and numerous nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bois D' Arc United Methodist Church with Rev. Kim Polchow and Rev. Mitch Fisher officiating with interment following in Clear Creek Cemetery, Springfield, Mo. under the care and direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Missouri.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 2:00p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the Ash Grove funeral home chapel.

Memorials may be given in his memory to the Bois D' Arc United Methodist Church.
